SEVEN DAY TREK – SOUTHEAST ACEH

Join us on an exhilarating seven-day trek through the heart of Sumatra, starting from the charming village of Bukit Lawang, journeying through Ketambe, the serene Kutacane in Southeast Aceh, and culminating in the vibrant town of Berastagi. This adventure offers a unique blend of wildlife encounters, cultural immersion, and breathtaking natural landscapes.

Day 1: Bukit Lawang – Gateway to the Jungle
Begin your adventure in Bukit Lawang, a gateway to the lush rainforests of Sumatra. After a brief orientation, embark on a trek through dense jungle paths, where the songs of exotic birds and the rustling of leaves accompany you. Overnight in jungle camps, under the stars.

Day 2-3: Journey to Ketambe – Wildlife Wonders
Trek towards Ketambe, known for its untouched rainforests and rich biodiversity. Keep an eye out for orangutans, gibbons, and the elusive Sumatran tiger. Learn about the local flora and fauna from our expert guides. Camp by the riverside, lulled by the sounds of the flowing water.

Day 4: Kutacane – Cultural Immersion
Enter Southeast Aceh where the landscape changes. Explore Kutacane, where you’ll experience the unique traditions and lifestyles of the local communities. Engage in cultural activities, including traditional cooking and local crafts.

Day 5: Trekking Through Varied Landscapes
Continue your trek through diverse terrains, offering a mix of dense jungle and open landscapes. This part of the journey provides a serene experience, connecting you deeply with the natural surroundings.

Day 6: Approaching Berastagi
As you near Berastagi, notice the change in scenery from dense jungle to open, agricultural lands. Berastagi is famous for its fruit farms and the impressive Sibayak and Sinabung volcanoes.

Day 8: Berastagi Exploration
Explore the vibrant markets of Berastagi, taste the local fruits, and if time permits, a short hike to one of the nearby volcanoes for a panoramic view of the region.
